Are you afraid of your spiders ?

No, I am not. Fear of spiders seems to me to be fear of the unknown, and the misunderstood. This makes it understandable, but not right. There is no spider anywhere that will deliberately go out of its way to attack a human. Ask yourself 'Would I go out of my way to attack Godzilla?' and you are along the right lines. There is simply no need to fear spiders, no matter how big, hairy, or unpleasant they may appear to you.

 

However, whilst I have no fear of them, I do have huge amounts of respect for them, their abilities, and instinctive traits. So I moderate my behaviour around them in such a way that it will not harrass, or threaten them, and therefore they will feel no need to react badly to my intrusion on their space.
