Today, we're watching 'Legz', a 7th instar P. fasciata as she stalks (see 'waits for') a medium size cricket of less than average intelligence or awareness of its surroundings. Needless to say, this is not a battle that lasts long, but does include a spectacular upside-down dive from Legz, who plucks the cricket from the ground in a dramatic 'from above' manoeuvre. but was it deliberate, or was she over-enthusiastic, and let go of the glass with a few too many legs ? Who knows, but its great to watch... enjoy
