This is what happens when you run out of suitably sized prey, and reluctantly decide to try a cockroach that you know full well is a bit too large. Ultimately I was working on the principle that the spider would run away if it felt it couldn't cope, and that it's venom might be potent enough to subdue it quickly. I was wrong about both, as it turned out, and Legz rushed in with only minimal investigation, and our roach put up quite some struggle which lasted over 2 days !!

 

Here it is - or should I say here most of it is... but what we do have is suitably action-packed and informative, and poses an interesting question or 2 about spider behaviour, specifically their capacity to remember & learn...
